An Exploration of the"Classification of Poetry Prophecy"in Ruan Yue's Shi Hua Zong Gui(诗话总龟)

Abstract
Shi Hua Zong Gui(诗话总龟)is the first work in the Song Dynasty to explicitly name classification as"Poetry Prophecy"and systematically collect poetry prophecies.Its volumes 33 and 34 are dedicated to the"classification of poetry prophecy",with a total of 67 poetry prophecies included.These poetry prophecies are classified into two major types based on their content:national fortune prophecies and personal fortune prophecies.There are 9 national fortune prophecies and 58 personal fortune prophecies collected.Among the personal fortune prophecies,they can be further subdivided into 39 prophecies about personal life and death and 19 prophecies about the ups and downs of personal careers.Beneath their seemingly absurd and bizarre appearances lies profound cultural implications,reflecting both the prevailing social atmosphere of discussing gods and ghosts and the poetic trend of being far-fetched.They also demonstrate the infiltration of imperial power and loyalty to the monarch into literature,which can be regarded as a mirror reflecting the society of the Northern Song Dynasty and has important academic research value.关键词
