Gender Dilemma and Breakthrough

Abstract
Lu Xun's Regret for the Past(伤逝)unfolds,through a male confessional lens,the tragic entanglement of love and gender faced by May Fourth intellectuals.Since its publication,the work has garnered significant attention over the past century and has become a classic motif in later literary rewritings.Rewritten texts from different periods reflect the narrative reconstruction intentions of authors of different genders.In the hands of male writers,rewritings of Regret for the Past(伤逝)largely extend the gender dilemmas of the original text,while female writers,although attempting to give voice to the silenced Zijun(子君)from the original,still struggle to break through these gender constraints.The gender dilemmas in the rewritten texts form a narrative cycle that finds it difficult to transcend the tragic framework of the original work.Achieving a"breakthrough"in gender dilemmas requires not only literary reconstruction but also dual changes in social systems and cultural psychology.关键词
