Abstract
Objective To explore the current status of hypoglycemia fear among parents of children with type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM)and to analyze its factors,and to provide reference for the development of targeted intervention.Method From October 2023 to June 2024,238 parents with T1DM children treated in Shanxi Children's Hospital were conveniently selected as the research sub-jects.The General Information Questionnaire,Parent's Hypoglycemia Fear Survey-Worry Subscale,General Self-Efficacy Scale and Parent's Perception Uncertainty in Illness Scale were used for the investigation.Results The score of fear of hypoglycemia in parents of children with T1DM was 38.13±8.65.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that hypoglycemia fear among parents of children with T1DM were mainly influenced by factors including relationship with the child,frequency of hypoglycemia,the latest glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),self-efficacy and uncertainty in illness(all P<0.05),which explained 58.4%of the total variance.Conclusion Fear of hypoglycemia in parents with T1DM children is at a moderate level.Medical staff should pay more attention to the mother of the child and parents with child with higher frequency of hypoglycemia and the one with HbA1c≥7.5%.Improving self-efficacy and reduc-ing uncertainty in illness are conducive to reducing fear of hypoglycemia.关键词
