Physiological growth and salt tolerance index of silage guar beans under drip irrigation in saline-alkali soil

Abstract
To investigate the effects of soil salinity stress on the growth,physiology,and yield of silage guar beans,four salinity gradient treatments were established,i.e.,non-salinized soil(CK,2.00 g/kg),lightly salinized soil(S1,5.00 g/kg),moderately salinized soil(S2,9.00 g/kg),and heavily salinized soil(S3,15.00 g/kg).Through pot experiments,the impacts of different salinity levels on plant height,stem diameter,photosynthetic parameters(net photosynthetic rate,transpiration rate,stomatal conductance,and intercellular CO2 concentration),and yield of silage guar were systemati-cally analyzed.Additionally,salt tolerance indices were calculated using linear regression analysis.The results show that plant height,stem diameter,leaf net photosynthetic rate,transpiration rate,and stomatal conductance of silage guar beans decrease significantly under heavily salinized soil treatment.Yield reduction in silage guar beans increases with increasing soil salinity.Compared to the non-sali-nized control(CK),yield decreases by 5.22%under lightly salinized soil,by 15.31%under mode-rately salinized soil,and by 48.83%under heavily salinized soil.The linear regression equations of yield and soil salinity content show that in 0-50 cm soil layer of silage guar beans,the critical value of salt tolerance is 3.17 g/kg,the limit of salt tolerance is 29.56 g/kg,and the threshold of salt tolerance for a 10%reduction in yield is 5.81 g/kg.Therefore,based on the results of the preliminary study,silage guar beans can be planted in non-salinized and lightly salinized soils under drip irrigation conditions.关键词
