Abstract

This study analyzed the height growth and development regularity of new leaf buds of Cymbidium ensifolium,and we established an optimal growth model to provide a reference for high-quality and efficient cultivation of orchids.Three greenhouse-cultivated cultivars of C.ensifolium('Yixianghe','Junhe',and'Gaoshanchunse')were used as materials,with their new leaf buds selected for the study.Three nonlinear models(Logistic,Gompertz,and Von Bertalanffy)were used to establish the height growth models of new leaf buds.The growth stages of the leaf buds were divided,and their growth and development regularity was explored.The results revealed that the leaf bud growth of the three cultivars conformed to the general"S"-shaped growth curve of the plants.All three models could simulate the height growth curves of the new leaf buds,but the logistic model had a higher goodness of fit,was closer to the measured values,and performed better in practical appli-cations.Through the logistic model equation,the growth stages of C.ensifolium leaf buds were divided into the early growth stage,vigorous growth stage,and late growth stage.The vigorous growth stage lasted for a longer period with a large growth amount,accounting for more than 63.23%of the total growth.This study proposes the growth models and growth regularities of new leaf buds of C.ensifolium,providing theoretical support for the subsequent efficient cultivation and management of C.ensifolium.
