Effects of Limited Water and Nitrogen Reduction on Biomass Accumulation,Yield and Quality of Henong 128

Abstract
[Objective]This study aimed to clarify the effects of different water and nitrogen management regimes on biomass accumulation,grain yield,and quality of winter wheat.[Method]Field experi-ments were conducted from 2022 to 2024 in Caohe Town,Xushui District,Baoding City,Hebei Prov-ince(115°33'E,38°56'N),using the medium-gluten wheat cultivar Henong 128.A split-plot design was adopted,with irrigation treatments as main plots irrigation at stem elongation(W1)and combined ir-rigation at stem elongation plus anthesis(W2)and nitrogen application rates as subplots:90 kg/hm2(N1),180 kg/hm2(N2),and 270 kg/hm2(N3).Grain yield,biomass accumulation,and quality param-eters of Henong 128 under each treatment were systematically compared.[Result]Irrigation and nitro-gen application showed significant interactive effects on dry matter and nitrogen accumulation,grain yield,and quality parameters,with the magnitude of influence ranked as:nitrogen>irrigation×nitro-gen>irrigation.Under the same nitrogen regime,W1 increased dry matter and nitrogen accumulation from flowering to maturity by an average of 8.86%and 3.30%,respectively,compared to W2.As nitro-gen application increased,nitrogen accumulation exhibited a trend of initial increase followed by a de-cline.Relative to N1 and N3,the N2 treatment enhanced grain nitrogen accumulation by 11.0%-28.22%and 3.8%-20.93%over the two experimental years,respectively.Under the same irrigation regime,N2 resulted in significantly higher grain yield than N1 and N3.Across both irrigation regimes,W1 outper-formed W2 by an average yield advantage of 1.35%.The highest yields in both years were achieved under the W1N2 treatment,reaching 8 453.33 kg/hm2 and 8 003.00 kg/hm2,respectively.Grain quality indices were also significantly superior under W1N2 compared to other treatments.[Conclusion]Under the ex-perimental conditions,a single spring irrigation applied at the stem elongation stage combined with a ni-trogen rate of 180 kg/hm2 significantly improved dry matter and nitrogen accumulation in Henong 128,promoted nutrient translocation to the grain,and achieved simultaneous enhancements in both yield and quality,providing an effective strategy for efficient wheat production.关键词
