Abstract

Due to the original mountain structure often presenting peculiar landforms such as irregular terrain and complex structure,features of dangerous rock masses like overhanging mountains and isolated rocks are frequently found.In the traditional construction of hydropower projects in China,for the need of changing the mountain structure during construction,the effective disposal of dangerous rock masses in advance is of great significance to the safety of open-pit excavation operations on the mountain.This article starts from the actual construction technology for the disposal of the upper unstable rock mass on the slope at the outlet of the tail-race tunnel of the Yebatan Hydropower Project,aiming to eliminate the unfavorable objective environmental factors that affect construction safety and provide reference and guidance for effectively ensuring the safety of engineering construction.
