Abstract
Professor Ji proposes that the thyroid gland serves as a pivotal hub for Qi movement and water metabolism, closely linked to the middle jiao spleen-stomach and lower jiao liver-kidney.The pathogenesis of hypothyroidism centers on"decline of the life-gate fire, failure of Qi transformation, and internal accumulation of damp-turbidity".Guided by the Qi-transformation theory from Treatise on Cold Damage Disorders, the treatment strategy of"warming Yang, disinhibiting water, resolving phlegm, and unblocking collaterals"is established. The core formula,Wuling erchen decoction(Five-Ingredient Poria Decoction with Two-Cured Decoction),is employed to invigorate the true fire of the Shaoyin kidney, regulate the pivoting mechanism of the triple jiao, and harmonize Qi movement in the middle jiao. This approach resolves phlegm-turbidity,restores transportation and transformation, and revitalizes the pivotal function of"Qi transformation-water metabolism".Consequently,it optimizes Western medication dosage, reduces long-term dependency, and exemplifies the holistic advantages of TCM in"treating disease by addressing its root while managing both root and branch simultaneously".This review introduces Professor Ji Yunxi's clinical experience in treating hypothyroidism using the Yang-warming and water-disinhibiting method, order to provide new ideas and references for clinical treament of hypothyroidism.关键词
