Discussion on the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation and treatment system of cancer-related anemia based on the theory of"cancer toxin-induced blood depletion"

Abstract
Cancer-related anemia(CRA)is a common complication in cancer patients,closely associated with the antagonistic interplay between pathogenic and righteous Qi during tumor progression and treatment.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has long emphasized syndrome differentiation and treatment of anemia,however,the pathogenesis of cancer-induced anemia is considerably more complex.Renowned TCM master Professor Zhou Zhongying introduced the concept of"cancer toxin",positing that this pathogenic toxin permeates the entire process of tumorigenesis and progression.According to his theory,the treatment of cancer and its complications should focus on eliminating this toxin.This review integrates classical TCM theories under the framework of the"cancer toxin-induced blood depletion"hypothesis,constructing an interactive pathomechanism model of"cancer-toxin-blood-organ".Through this model,we deeply analyze the etiology and pathogenesis of CRA from a TCM perspective.Based on these insights,a syndrome differentiation-based therapeutic system is proposed,aiming to disrupt the vicious cycle of cancer toxin damage,blood depletion,and organ dysfunction,providing a theoretical basis for the TCM treatment of CRA.关键词
