摘要

Abstract

Geological storage of carbon dioxide(CO2)involves injecting captured CO2 into deep underground geological formations,such as saline aquifers,depleted oil and gas reservoirs,and unmineable coal seams,using engineering methods.Major countries worldwide possess vast potential for CO2 geological storage,offering ample storage space to help achieve global net-zero emissions.This paper summarizes the current status of CO2 geological sequestration applications both in China and internationally and analyzes the key challenges China will face in this area:the large gap between carbon storage technology and the international advanced level,the lack of real-time dynamic monitoring and long-term monitoring,and the resource overriding,confirmation of the right,and the division of responsibility.In order to smoothly promote the pilot test and large-scale application,this article proposes the following suggestions and measures:promote collaboration between industry,academia,and research institutions to develop efficient and safe CO2 storage technologies.Furthermore,a comprehensive monitoring system integrating multiple high-precision,high-sensitivity techniques must be established to ensure long-term,continuous,and stable monitoring.It is also crucial to clarify the resource attributes and development priorities of deep carbon storage spaces,and to formulate incentive policies and management measures for the synergistic development of multiple resources.The implementation of the aforementioned measures will effectively advance the development of China's geological CO2 storage technology,providing critical support for addressing climate change and achieving the goals of peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality.
