Abstract

Based on the theory of the digital divide,this study explores the access conditions and aging-adaptive design status of smart cars for older drivers,and proposes design strategies to bridge the digital divide.A systematic literature review was conducted to summarize and discuss the evolution of the digital divide and its manifestations in the field of smart cars.The current status and issues of aging-adaptive design in smart cars were analyzed across three dimensions:access divide,usage divide,and literacy divide.In response to the challenges faced by older drivers,such as difficulties in accessing smart cars,obstacles in usage,and insufficient digital literacy,a three-tiered strategy was proposed.This strategy is based on user research,interaction design,and educational training to bridge the digital divide.The digital divide for older drivers in the context of smart cars urgently needs to be addressed.Strengthening aging-adaptive design can help enhance driving safety and digital inclusion for the elderly population.
