Effects of Moxibustion at Lower He-Sea and Front-Mu Points on Improving Diarrhea in Diversion Colitis Patients

Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of moxibustion at lower he-sea and front-mu points on improving diarrhea in diversion colitis patients,thereby providing a basis for clinical practice.Methods A total of 70 diversion colitis patients treated at a Grade Ⅲ-A hospital in Shanghai from October 01,2022 to June 01,2024 were selected as subjects.They were randomly divided into the observation group(n=35)and the control group(n=35)by using a random number table.The control group was given standard of care,including fasting,acid suppression and stomach protection,electrolyte supplementation,intestinal flora regulation,antidiarrhea and other symptomatic treatments.The observation group was additionally given daily moxibustion at bilateral points ST25(Tianshu)and ST37(Shangjuxu).Serum inflammatory factor levels,diarrhea severity scores,and TCM syndrome efficacy results were collected from patients before and after the intervention.Results Serum inflammatory factor levels decreased in both groups post-intervention compared to pre-intervention,and the observation group showed lower levels than the control group(P<0.05).Diarrhea severity scores decreased significantly in both groups post-intervention compared to pre-intervention,and the observation group showed lower scores than the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate for TCM syndrome treatment was 97.14％in the observation group,significantly higher than 85.71％in the control group(χ2=7.819,P=0.04).Conclusion Moxibustion at lower he-sea and front-mu points significantly decreases inflammatory factor levels,alleviates diarrhea symptoms,and improves clinical treatment efficacy in diversion colitis patients.关键词
