Evaluation for the Sake of Non-evaluation

Abstract
As an important lever for measuring educational quality and effectiveness,educational evaluation plays a significant role in promoting teaching improvement,ensuring educational equity,and optimizing the allocation of resources.However,evaluation is a double-edged sword.The standards that come with evaluation and reviews all have a dual effect.On the one hand,they promote the regularization of non-standardized matters to achieve efficiency.On the other hand,they may cause standardized matters to become rigid and lose their individuality.In reality,evaluation itself may deviate from the original intention of education,falling into the predicament of"evaluation for the sake of evaluation".By delving into the original logic of educational evaluation and confronting the widespread phenomenon of over-evaluation in actual educational operations,it is recognized that"evaluation is for the purpose of reducing,or even eliminating evaluation"in a quality assurance framework.Therefore,it is necessary to redefine the"boundaries"of evaluation,clarify the appropriate scope and timing of action,and promote the transition of evaluation from a"control tool"to a"governance engine".At the same time,it is essential to improve current evaluations.On the one hand,through"integration"and"optimization",systematically screen and consolidate the chaotic situation of multiple evaluations to get to the root of the problem and effectively stimulate the internal driving force of education.On the other hand,through"simplification"and"flexibility",restore the essential functions of education and effectively promote the autonomous development of higher education institutions.关键词
