Comorbidity status and its influencing factors of chronic metabolic diseases among middle-aged and young people undergoing physical examinations in Pudong New Area,Shanghai

Abstract
Objective Investigate the comorbidity status of chronic metabolic diseases among middle-aged and young people undergoing physical examinations in Pudong New Area,Shanghai,and analyze its influencing factors.Methods From September 2022 to June 2023,the demographic basic information and health examination data of 1 680 middle-aged and young people were collected from the physical examination centers of three tertiary comprehensive hospitals in Pudong New Area,Shanghai.Using a combination of questionnaire survey and physical examination system for data extraction,the demographic and sociological information of the subjects and health examination data were collected,and the detection of chronic metabolic diseases in the subjects were investigated.The Venn diagram was drawn using R 4.0.5 software Venn package to describe the distribution of comorbidities of chronic metabolic diseases,and ordered Logistic model was used to analyze the influencing factors of multiple chronic diseases in the middle-aged and young population.Results Among the 1 680 participants,fatty liver disease had the highest detection rate(495 cases,29.46％),followed by hyperuricemia(424 cases,25.24％).A total of 422 individuals(25.1％)had two or more chronic metabolic diseases,with the most common comorbidity being fatty liver disease and hyperuricemia(89 cases,5.30％).Age(OR=1.052,95％CI=1.016-1.089),gender(OR=2.057,95％CI=1.454-2.911),body mass index(BMI)(OR=1.254,95％CI=1.201-1.310),and unhealthy dietary habits(OR=1.442,95％CI=1.105-1.882)were significant factors affecting multiple chronic diseases in middle-aged and young populations(P＜0.05).Conclusion The detection rate of chronic metabolic diseases among young and middle-aged adults in Pudong New Area,Shanghai,is high.Age,gender,BMI,and poor dietary habits are independent risk factors for comorbid chronic metabolic diseases in this population.关键词
