Effect of electroacupuncture on in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer outcomes in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome

Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture on the outcomes of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET)and the expression of the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway in ovarian granulosa cells in infertile patients with phlegm-dampness type polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Method A total of 60 infertile patients with phlegm-dampness type PCOS were randomly divided into a test group(30 cases)and a control group(30 cases).The test group received electroacupuncture treatment starting 3 months before IVF-ET,while the control group received sham electroacupuncture during the same period.Changes in TCM syndrome scores,IVF-ET outcomes,and the levels of JAK2 and STAT3 mRNA and protein expression in ovarian granulosa cells were compared between the two groups.Result After treatment,the TCM syndrome scores in the test group were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05)and were also lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The normal fertilization rate and high-quality embryo rate in the test group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the protein and mRNA expression levels of JAK2 and STAT3 in the test group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Electroacupuncture can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and assisted reproductive outcomes in infertile patients with phlegm-dampness type PCOS,which may be related to the inhibition of JAK2 and STAT3 mRNA and protein expression in follicular fluid granulosa cells.关键词
