Meta-analysis of Effects of Baduanjin on Cardiopulmonary Function in Patients with Coronary Heart Disease after PCI

Abstract
Objective To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy of Baduanjin intervention on cardiopulmo-nary function in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD)after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)by meta-analy-sis.Methods A search was performed across six major databases,including PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Data,and China Science and Technology Journal Database(VIP),to collect relevant randomized controlled trials(RCTs)published from the foundation of these databases to July 20th,2025.The subjects were CHD patients after PCI and were divided into a treatment group(receiving conventional basic/rehabilita-tion therapy combined with Baduanjin)and a control group(receiving conventional basic/rehabilitation therapy alone).The primary outcome indicators included N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide(NT-pro BNP),left ventricular ejec-tion fraction(LVEF),left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD),stroke volume(SV),6-minute walking test(6MWT),anaerobic threshold oxygen uptake,anaerobic threshold metabolic equivalent,and peak oxygen pulse.The meth-odological quality of the included studies was assessed using the Cochrane Reviewer's Handbook of Systematic Review ver-sion 5.1.0 risk of bias assessment tool.The meta-analysis and clinical efficacy evaluation were conducted using RevMan 5.3 software.Results A total of 16 studies involving 1,569 patients were ultimately included in this analysis,with the overall methodological quality of the included studies assessed as moderate.The meta-analysis results indicated that,com-pared to the control group,the treatment group exhibited a significant advantage in reducing NT-pro BNP[MD=-92.64,95％CI(-171.25,-14.04),P＜0.0001],and increasing LVEF[MD=6.07,95％CI(4.79,7.34),P＜0.0001],LVEDD[MD=-4.91,95％CI(-6.01,-3.82),P＜0.000 01],SV[MD=7.75,95％CI(5.99,9.51),P＜0.000 01],6MWT[MD=52.63,95％CI(37.04,68.20)],anaerobic threshold oxygen uptake[MD=1.70,95％CI(0.86,2.54),P＜0.0001],as well as anaerobic threshold metabolic equivalent[MD=0.90,95％CI(0.71,1.09),P＜0.000 01].However,there was no statistically significant difference in peak oxygen pulse between the two groups(P=0.37).Conclu-sion Baduanjin can significantly enhance cardiopulmonary function and exercise tolerance in CHD patients after PCI.However,further validation of this conclusion is needed through additional high-quality RCTs.关键词
