Abstract

The rapid development of cities has led to an increase in landscape fragmentation,causing serious damage to ecosystems.Taking the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration as an example,based on the quantitative characterization of the evolution of urban agglomeration landscape fragmentation from 2000 to 2020 using landscape pattern index,it explored the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of carbon storage,habitat quality,and water yield using grid analysis and spatial autocorrelation analysis method.Finally,the impact mechanism of urban agglomeration landscape fragmentation factors on ecosystem services was revealed based on the Optimal Parameters-based Geographical Detector(OPGD).The results indicate that:(1)Rapid urbanization has intensified the degree of landscape fragmentation in the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration,and the overall situation is that the degree of landscape fragmentation is higher in the area around the Pearl River Estuary,with a decreasing trend of spreading to the periphery.(2)In the past 20 years,the ecosystem services of the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration have shown a highly aggregated spatial pattern,with the distribution characteristics of carbon storage and habitat quality being low in the central part and high in the surrounding areas,while the spatiotemporal distribution of water yield is uneven.(3)Taking 2020 as an example,the results of single-factor detection showed that the average q value of the explanatory power of landscape fragmentation factors for regional changes in carbon stock and habitat quality was 0.299 and 0.254,respectively,with higher explanatory power for CONTAG,SPLIT and SHDI,whereas the overall explanatory power of landscape fragmentation factors for water yield was lower,with an average q value of only 0.132.(4)The interaction detection results show that the q values range from 0.048 to 0.468,indicating that the explanatory power of two-factor interaction is significantly higher than that of a single factor,mainly characterized by two-factor enhancement or nonlinear enhancement relationships.The research results quantitatively reveal that the combined effects of multiple factors provide a better explanation for the spatial heterogeneity of ecosystem services in urban agglomerations.Multi-perspective governance is conducive to enhancing ecosystem service capacity and promoting high-quality development of the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration.
