摘要

Abstract

Nitraria tangutorum nebkhas is widely distributed in the desert-oasis ecotone of the lower reaches of the Shiyang River,serving as an important ecological barrier for the Minqin Oasis.This study investigated the surface crust of Nitraria tangutorum nebkhas through a combination of field surveys and laboratory analyses to determine the types and characteristics of the surface crusts.The results indicated that:1)the formation and evolution of the surface crust depended on regional environmental conditions.The complete developmental sequence from quicksand to physical crust,then to algae crust,lichen crust,and finally moss crust occurred only under specific conditions,and should not be generalized.2)Changes in the physical properties of surface crust were observed:clay particles first appeared at the physical crust stage,with the content of silt and clay particles increasing throughout evolution the process,indicating progressively enhanced soil formation.Changes in chemical characteristics showed that the nutrient contents of total nitrogen,total phosphorus,total potassium and organic matter all increased with surface crust evolution.3)Microstructure analysis revealed that quicksand exhibited clearly defined interstices between grains.In the salt crust,sand grains was tightly coated with salt crystals.The physical crust showed sand grains covered and entangled by mycelium.In the algae,lichen and moss crusts increasing amounts mycelium,algae filaments and pseudoroots were observed,along with their cementing effects on sand grains and associated changes in grain morphology.The evolution of surface crust of Nitraria tangutorum nebkhas did not strictly follow a fixed sequence;however,soil formation processes were evident,and distinct morphological changes in sand grains were observed across different surface crust types.
