Digital Economy,R&D Factor Flow and Regional Innovation Gap
摘要
Abstract
Narrowing the gap in regional innovation is an inevitable requirement for promoting coordinated regional develop-ment.Based on the sample data of 225 cities at prefecture level and above in China from 2011 to 2023,this paper empirically tests the intrinsic correlation between digital economy,R&D factor flow,and regional innovation gap,and then examines the moderating effect of intellectual property protection on the impact of digital economy on regional innovation gap.The study finds that the digi-tal economy significantly widens the regional innovation gap,and that the conclusion still holds after endogeneity and robustness tests.There are structural differences in the impact of the digital economy on regional innovation gap.In the dimension of digital economy,industrial digitization and digital infrastructure are the main reasons leading to the Matthew effect of regional innovation.In the dimension of regional innovation gap,the Matthew effect of regional innovation caused by the digital economy is mainly re-flected in the gap between invention innovation and utility model innovation.The impact of digital economy on regional innovation gap is more significant in third-,fourth-,and fifth-tier cities,as well as non-resource-based cities.The mechanism test results show that the digital economy can widen the regional innovation gap by promoting the flow of R&D personnel and R&D capital.In addition,intellectual property protection will strengthen the regional innovation gap widening effect of the digital economy.关键词
