Analysis of Acoustic Emission Characteristics During Shear Failure Process of Aggregate-Matrix Interface in Early-Age Rock-Filled Concrete

Abstract
To understand the shear failure characteristics of the aggregate-matrix interface in early-age rock-filled concrete(RFC),this study investigated the changes in acoustic emission(AE)signals during the shear failure process of the interface.45°inclined shear tests were conducted under different ages(1,3,7,14,and 28 days)to explore the development of shear strength and failure characteristics of the early-age RFC aggregate-matrix interface.Combined with AE technology,the relationship between AE ring count and stress-strain curve was revealed;the RA-AF statistical method for AE signals was used to clarify the crack evolution law of the RFC aggregate-matrix interface,and the mixed Gaussian model based on RA-AF was applied to identify the interface cracking mode during the shear failure process.The results show that:the shear strength of the RFC aggregate-matrix interface increases the most in the first 7 days,reaching 42.9%,and the growth rate slows down after 7 days;during the shear failure process,the AE ring count is divided into5 stages,which are characterized by no AE activity,low AE ring count,stable growth,AE increase followed by decrease before the peak,and AE ring count reaching the peak,respectively;the cumulative ring count gradually increases with the increase of age;In the shear failure process of the aggregate-cement interface,tensile failure is dominant before7 days(tensile cracks account for 52.9%and52.4%respectively),while shear cracking becomes the main failure mode after7 days(shear cracks account for59.0%and63.7%respectively).The conclu-sions of this study can provide a theoretical basis and reference for the evaluation of the shear performance of early-age RFC.关键词
