Simulation of Compressive Failure of Rock-Filled Concrete Based on Strain-Softening Model

Abstract
To investigate the internal damage evolution process of Self-Compacting Concrete(SCC)and Roller-Compacted Concrete(RFC)under uniaxial compression,an RFC numerical model was established based on the existing three-dimensional digital model of the rockfill.The strain-softening constitutive model was adopted to conduct uniaxial compression numerical simulations of SCC and RFC,aiming to study the differences in behavioral characteristics and failure mechanisms between SCC and RFC during the stress-bearing process under uniaxial compression.The results show that:The stress-strain curves of SCC and RFC obtained from the numerical simulations are basically consistent with the experimental results.The rockfill in RFC plays a role in bearing loads and preventing concrete deformation.On one hand,the rock-fill skeleton has high strength and effectively bears the external load applied to the specimen,thereby improving the bearing capacity of the o-verall structure;on the other hand,the rockfill skeleton plays a supporting role and can effectively inhibit the deformation of concrete.Mean-while,different accumulation methods of rockfill inside RFC will affect the distribution of internal stress when it bears external forces,and further influence the deformation behavior of RFC.The SCC specimens exhibit an"X"-shaped failure pattern,where the damage area first appears on the surface of the specimen,showing an overall and large-area characteristics.For RFC,damage first occurs at the contact sur-face between the rockfill and concrete;as the loading continues,the damage areas gradually expand and spread along the contact surfaces,and finally connect with each other to form a damage zone that runs through the entire specimen,leading to the failure of RFC.关键词
