Abstract

Grasping the quality status of river water resources,the type of natural hydrochemistry,and comprehensively identifying the variation trends of water pollutants are the basic prerequisites for realizing the development and utilization of basin water resources as well as the management and protection of the water environment.To assess the current water quality and analyze the pollutant trends in the Qingshui River Basin,this study took 2024 as the current year and combined the surface water quality monitoring data from 2015 to 2024.It adopted the single-factor evaluation method,Alekin classification method,natural poor-quality water determination method,and sea-sonal Kendall trend test method to analyze the current status of surface water quality and the variation trends of major pollutants in the Qingshui River Basin.The results show that there are significant differences in water quality categories,mineralization degree,total hard-ness,and natural hydrochemical characteristics between the upper reaches and the middle-lower reaches of the Qingshui River Basin,with the water quality in the lower reaches being worse than that in the upper reaches.Over the past 10 years,four pollution indicators—CODMn(permanganate index),NH3-N(ammonia nitrogen),TP(total phosphorus),and BOD5(five-day biochemical oxygen demand)-have shown a gradual downward trend and tended to stabilize,especially after 2018,the pollutant situation has improved significantly.
