Architectural Features and Chronological Analysis of Stone Towers in Luozha County,Xizang,Based on C14 Dating
摘要
Abstract
Stone towers or watchtowers,an ancient architectural form, are widely distributed in Southwest China's ethnic minority regions, with a high concentration in Luozha County,Shannan City,Xizang. These towers significantly influenced the development of Tibetan architecture and hold substantial research value. Most stone towers in the Bianba Valley of Luozha County are defensive residential structures, categorized into four types:single towers,courtyard-style towers, conjoined towers, and tower clusters.Originating in the late Tubo period and flourishing during the fragmented regional rule, these towers developed concurrently across multiple sites, forming settlements with a linear distribution along water sources and progressing from gentle to steep slopes.Due to their durability, these towers were used extensively or repeatedly, becoming the most prevalent architectural form in local history.关键词
