新疆叶城布朗村南佛教遗址吐蕃摩崖造像小考
A Study on the Tubo Period Rock Reliefs at the Buddhist Site South of Bulang Village,Yecheng,Xinjiang
摘要
Abstract
The shallow relief rock carving at the Buddhist site south of Bulang Village fea-tures a triadic Buddha composition,closely resembling the Womb Realm triadic iconog-raphy centered on Vairocana with the meditation mudra,prevalent in Eastern Xizang during the Tang-Tubo period.The style of the lotus pedestal suggests influence from the Vajradhatu scriptures,indicating a synthesis of the Two Realms Mandala system.Decorative elements,likely lampstands,in the spaces between the figures were common in Central Plains Buddhist regions during and after the Tang Dynasty.The carving re-flects cultural grafting within the interaction networks of multiple Buddhist communities along a key route connecting the South Asian subcontinent,ancient Central Asia,and the Central Plains during the Tubo period.关键词
