Abstract
This study investigated the effects of microbial inoculant seed-soaking treatments on seed germination and seedling growth of oat(Avena sativa L.)cultivar'Baiyan No.7'under drought stress.This study investigated the effects of seed soaking with microbial agents(Bacillus licheniformis,effective microorganisms,and a compound microbial inoculant)on the seed germination and seedling growth of the'Baiyan No.7'cultivar under both water stress simulated by polyethylene glycol(PEG)solutions and alternating temperature conditions(10 h light at 10℃/14 h darkness at 5℃).The results indicated that seed inoculation with bio-agents promoted the seed germination and seedling growth of'Baiyan No.7'under drought stress.Notably,the treatment with Bacillus licheniformis(DY)significantly increased the germination rate,seedling height,and radicle length.Under mild drought stress(-0.2 MPa,-0.4 MPa),germination rate increased,peaking between 2 to 3 days,whereas severe stress(-0.8 MPa,-1.0 MPa)suppressed germination but enhanced stress resistance.At-1.0 MPa,DY-treated seedlings exhibited the highest fresh weight(0.36 g)and soluble protein content(6.25 mg/g),both significantly higher than the control(CK).Correlation analysis revealed strong positive correlations(P<0.01 or P<0.05)among most germination and growth traits,except for malondialdehyde(MDA),which was negatively correlated.Membership function evaluation indicated that all three microbial agents improved drought resistance,with efficacy ranked as DY>compound microbial inoculant>EM consortium.DY treatment demonstrated the strongest effect,supporting its application as a seed priming strategy to enhance germination and reduce seeding requirement.关键词
