Influencing factors for duplicate participation in basic medical insurance among migrant workers

Abstract
Objective To analyze the factors influencing duplicate participation in basic medical insur-ance among migrant workers and to propose policy recommendations to curb this adverse phenomenon.Methods Based on data from the 2017 China Migrant Dynamic Survey(CMDS),statistical descriptions of duplicate partici-pation among migrant workers were conducted,followed by logistic regression modeling to identify the influencing factors.Results Among 105 031 migrant worker samples,7 272 cases exhibited duplicate participation,yielding a duplicate participation rate of 6.92％.Regression analysis results revealed that multidimensional factors,inclu-ding gender,age,education level,mobility range,willingness to transfer household registration,and housing type,were statistically significant(P＜0.05)in influencing duplicate participation decisions.Conclusions To mitigate duplicate participation among migrant workers,the following measures are recommended:enhancing the coordination level of medical insurance to improve cross-regional healthcare coverage,strengthening medical insur-ance information-sharing systems to increase publicity of insurance policies,improving the legal framework for medical insurance to combat fraudulent duplicate claims,and fostering urban inclusiveness to boost migrant work-ers' confidence in accessing healthcare security.关键词
