Investigation of the species and population dynamics of thrips on macadamia in Yunnan Province
摘要
Abstract
In order to clarify the main species and population dynamics of thrips damaging macadamia(Macadamia spp.)in Yunnan Province, during the flowering stage of macadamia from 2023 to 2024,thrips were collected from 22 sampling points in 5 cities, the main planting areas of macadamia in Yunnan Province. The species of thrips were identified by morphology.A fixed-point survey on the population dynamics of thrips in macadamia orchards of Jinghong city was carried out throughout the year of 2023.The results showed that a total of 4,720 thrips were collected at 22 sampling points, and identified as 15 species belonging to 3 families and 8 genera.Among them,Thrips coloratus was the dominant species, while T.andrewsi,Lefroyothrips lefroyi,T.hawaiiensis and Haplothrips tenuipennis were the sub-dominant species. In the macadamia orchards of Jinghong City, the number of thrips had three peak periods in 2023,with each one peak in flowering period, fruiting period and sprouting period of macadamia.Among them, the number of thrips was the highest during the flowering period, and the main stage of these insects was adult. The peak occurrence period of thrips during the fruiting period appeared in the early fruiting stage and the fruit expan-sion stage, and the main stage of these insects was nymph. The number of thrips showed a small peak during the sprouting peri-od,and the main stage of these insects was nymph. In macadamia production, targeted control measures can be implemented based on the dominant thrips population and peak occurrence period to improve pest management efficiency.关键词
