摘要

Abstract

In order to analyze the physiological characteristics and chilling resistance of macadamia in response to low-tempera-ture stress,the leaves of six macadamia varieties were used as test materials.Ten physiological indexes,including relative water content,relative conductivity,and the content of soluble sugars,soluble proteins,proline and malondialdehyde(MDA),and the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT),peroxidase(POD)and polyphenol oxidase(PPO)of macadamia leav-es were measured and analyzed through low-temperature stress(-4 ℃)treatment(0 h,24 h,48 h,72 h treatments).The chill-ing resistance was comprehensively evaluated by using correlation analysis,principal component analysis and affiliation function method.The results showed that with the extension of low-temperature stress,the relative conductivity of macadamia leaves in-creased,while the relative water content decreased,the content of proline,soluble proteins,soluble sugars,MDA and the activi-ties of SOD and CAT increased and then decreased,and the overall activities of POD and PPO showed a decreasing and then in-creasing trend.Principal component analysis indicated that eight physiological indexes,namely,MDA,relative water content,relative conductivity,soluble sugar,POD,CAT,soluble protein and proline,could be used as the main indexes for evaluating the chilling resistance of macadamia leaves.The strength of chilling hardiness of 6 macadamia varieties comprehensively evaluated by applying the affiliation function was as following:Nanya No.116>NanyaNo.3>Nanya No.12>A16>Nanya No.1>A4.The results of this study can lay a foundation for exploring the mechanism of low-temperature stress response regulation in maca-damia,and selecting and breeding new chilling-resistant macadamia varieties.
