Identification of major viral and viroid pathogens in hybrid citrus in Hubei Province

Abstract
To identify the viruses and viroids infecting hybrid citrus in Hubei Province,182 samples were collected from 16 hy-brid citrus cultivars(germplasms)between September and December 2023.These samples were tested using reverse transcrip-tion-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)for the presence of 12 target viruses and viroids.Five viruses and four viroids were detected.Among the viruses,citrus yellow vein clearing virus(CYVCV)showed the highest detection rate(82.97％),followed by citrus tristeza virus(CTV,78.57％),citrus tatter leaf virus(CTLV,43.96％),citrus psorosis virus(CPsV,24.18％),and citrus leaf blotch virus(CLBV,13.74％).Among four viroids,hop stunt viroid(HSVd)had the highest detection rate(76.37％),followed by citrus dwarfing viroid(CDVd,70.33％),citrus bent leaf viroid(CBLVd,51.65％),and citrus exocortis viroid(CEVd,37.91％).The overall pathogen-positive rate was 97.80％(178/182),and the mixed infection rate was 92.31％(168/182).A total of 76 mixed infection patterns were observed,with the combination of CTV,CYVCV,HSVd and CDVd show-ing the highest detection rate of 9.89％(18/182).关键词
