摘要

Abstract

To effectively control wind-sand disasters along railway embankments in Northwest China,this study evaluates the protective efficacy of combined measures using existing baffle-type sand barriers and sand-interception ditches under varying inflow wind speeds and spacing configurations.Numerical simulation methods are applied to assess wind-sand mitigation performance by analyzing surrounding flow field distributions,horizontal and vertical wind velocity patterns,vorticity,and sediment deposition-erosion characteristics.Results indicate:Below the set height H of the sand-blocking embankment,the horizontal airflow velocity decreases continuously.At a height of 2 m above ground level on the leeward side of the embankment,the wind speed attenuation rate reaches 96%,significantly reducing the sand-laden airflow around the embankment.As the inflow wind speed increases,the sand deposition area on the windward side gradually decreases,while the reverse erosion area on the leeward side gradually expands.Under the synergistic effect of the sand-interception ditch,as the spacing between the baffle-type barrier and the ditch increases from 0 to 15 H,the amount of sand intercepted and deposited around the ditch gradually increases.The combined measures significantly enhance sand deposition.The effective protective distance of the interlocking sand barrier and sand-interception ditch stabilizes at approximately 44 H.The recommended optimal spacings between the interlocking sand barrier and sand-interception ditch under low and high wind speeds are 8 H and 15 H,respectively.
