Identification of the Pathogen Causing Cercospora Leaf Spot and Determination of the Toxicity of Fungicides

Abstract
[Objective]This study aimed to clarify the types of the pathogen causing sugar beet Cercospora leaf spot in Hinggan League,Inner Mongolia,and to screen out fungicides with a better control effect.[Methods]Diseased samples were collected from the sugar beet demonstration field in Zalait Banner,Hinggan League,Inner Mongolia,and were isolated and identified.Pathogenicity was determined using in vitro leaf method and pot inoculation,and the mycelial growth rate method was used to determine the toxicity of 11 different fungicides on the pathogen.[Results]Strain ZHB-1 isolated from the leaves of diseased sugar beets was identified as Cercospora beticola based on the results of morphological and molecular identification.All 11 fungicides tested showed some inhibitory effect on the growth of the fungal mycelium causing Cercospora leaf spot.Among them,430 g/L tebuconazole had the strongest fungicidal effect with an EC50 value of 0.000 1 mg/L,followed by 70%thiophanate-methyl,30%difenoconazole propiconazol,70%triphenyltin hydroxide and 8%fluosilazole with EC50 values of 0.000 7 mg/L,0.000 8 mg/L,0.052 5 mg/L and 0.066 6 mg/L,respectively.The fungicide with the weakest inhibitory effect was 80%carbendazim with an EC50 value of 158.489 0 mg/L.[Conclusion]430 g/L tebuconazole has the strongest fungicidal effect on Cercospora leaf,and the results could provide a theoretical basis and data support for the rational use of fungicides and the field control of Cercospora leaf spot disease.关键词
