Explore the application of modular teaching based on cases in gynecological teaching

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effectiveness of case-based modular teaching(CMT)in gynecology education and evaluate its impact on enhancing students'clinical thinking,operational skills,knowledge mastery,and clinical comprehensive competence.Methods From June 2023 to May 2024,80 gynecology clinical interns from the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong Second Medical University were randomly divided into a study group(40 participants)and a control group(40 participants)using a randomized digital method.The study group adopted a CMT approach,while the control group continued with traditional teaching methods.The 12-month teaching cycle involved comprehensive evaluations of clinical thinking,operational skills,knowledge mastery,and clinical comprehensive competence through final assessments,practical operation scores,theoretical knowledge tests,and self-evaluations.Results Students in the research group demonstrated significantly higher clinical thinking abilities than the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Their clinical operational skills outperformed those of the control group(P<0.05),while they also showed superior mastery of theoretical knowledge,standard protocols,and practical applications(P<0.05).Furthermore,the research group's students exhibited markedly greater clinical comprehensive competencies compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The CMT mode can effectively improve the clinical thinking ability,operational skills,knowledge mastery and clinical comprehensive competence of gynecological clinical interns,and has significant teaching effect,which is worth promoting and applying in gynecological teaching.关键词
