疏肝调神针法辅助甲泼尼龙治疗活动期中重度甲状腺相关眼病的疗效观察
Observation on the Efficacy of Soothing Liver and Regulating Spirit Acupuncture as an Adjunctive Therapy with Methylprednisolone in the Treatment of Active Moderate to Severe Thyroid-associated Ophthalmopathy

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinical efficacy of the Soothing Liver and Regulating Spirit Acupuncture Method as an adjuvant therapy for active moderate to severe thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy(TAO).METHODS A total of 60 patients(120 eyes)with active TAO who visited the Ophthalmology Department of Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine affiliated with Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine between December 1st,2021,to March 31st,2023 were enrolled and randomly divided into an observation group(OG)and a control group(CG),with 30 patients(60 eyes)in each group.The control group received intravenous infusion of methylprednisolone sodium succinate injection combined with artificial tear eye drops,while the observation group received the Soothing Liver and Regulating Spirit Acupuncture Method in addition to the control group's treatment.Both groups were treated for 12 weeks.Exophthalmos,diplopia grade,and clinical activity score(CAS)were measured and compared before and after treatment in both groups.RESULTS(1)Exophthalmos:The exophthalmos in both groups after treatment was lower than that before treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(tOG=-7.684,tCG=-6.475,both P=0.000).After treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in exophthalmos between the two groups(P>0.05).The reduction in exophthalmos in the observation group was greater than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(t=2.381,P=0.019).(2)Diplopia grade:The diplopia grades in both groups of patients after treatment were lower than those before treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(ZOG=-4.378,ZCG=-4.093,P=0.000).After treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in diplopia grade between the two groups(P>0.05).The reduction in diplopia grade in the observation group was greater than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(Z=2.103,P=0.035).(3)CAS score:The CAS in both groups of patients after treatment were lower than those before treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(tOG=-11.886,tCG=-9.815,both P=0.000).After treatment,the CAS in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,with the difference being statistically significant(t=-2.755,P=0.008).(4)Clinical efficacy:The total effective rate in the observation group(93.33%)was higher than that in the control group(91.67%),but there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).CONCLUSIONS Adjuvant therapy with the soothing liver and regulating spirit acupuncture method can effectively reduce exophthalmos and CAS,and improve diplopia in patients with active TAO.关键词
