Abstract
This article examines the transformation of living heritage from locality to publicness through a case study of Wudu Mountain Opera,a national intangible cultural heritage of Longnan,Gansu Province.Beginning with the opera's form in rural cultural contexts,the study traces how heritage practitioners have deliberately guided its adaptation to new sociocultural environments during the processes of heritagization,while actively mitigating the risks of decontextualization.The transmission practices of Wudu Mountain Opera reveal how heritage practitioners consciously transcend the boundaries of its original cultural setting,reconfigured it with an orientation toward publicness and effectively maintained its activity.By embodying a culturally inclusive aesthetic and responding flexibly to contemporary trends,Wudu Mountain Opera exemplifies the applied notion of"self-awareness of culture"in cultural heritage practice.关键词
