Tong Xiaolin's treatment based on syndrome differentiation of elderly patient with diabetes complicated by multiple systemic diaeases

Abstract
Academician Tong Xiaolin has proposed a unitized management model for diabetes,which integrates multidisciplinary strengths and breaks through traditional limitations,and formulates precise and personalized diagnosis and treatment plans based on each patient's individual condition,achieving systematic and standardized management to enhance treatment efficacy and quality of life.In the Department of Endocrinology of Shenzhen Hospital(Futian)of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Academician Tong Xiaolin conductes a teaching ward round for a patient with diabetes complicated by multiple systemic diseases;Academician Tong analyzes the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)approach of treatment based on syndrome differentiation,the progression of the disease,and the key points in diagnosis and treatment;Academician Tong emphasizes the precise application of a three-ingredient small formula combined with targeted drugs under complex symptoms and multiple complications,focuses on dosage control,prevents disease progression,protects against vascular damage,and implements the concept of state-target treatment based on syndrome differentiation.Academician Tong shares case studies on the experiences of TCM treatment based on syndrome differentiation of diabetes complicated by constipation,pulmonary infection,cholecystitis,and macrovascular disease,and explores the unique advantages and clinical strategies of Chinese herbal medicine in preventing and treating multiple systemic diseases in the elderly,providing valuable experience for the application of TCM in the management of complex diseases.关键词
