Abstract

[Purpose]To screen atrazine-degrading fungal strains from the hot and humid soil environment in southern China and explore the degradation characteristics,thereby providing candidate strains for the microbial remediation of atrazine-contaminated soil.[Method]Atrazine-degrading strains were isolated from the farmland soil in Xiamen via the enrichment culture method and then identified through gene sequencing.Various factors,including temperature,pH,inoculum volume,initial atrazine concentra-tion,and carbon sources,were selected for single factor experiments to study the degradation characteristics of the strain.[Result]An atrazine-degrading strain AX1 was screened out.It exhibited round white opaque colonies with an entire margin and smooth tex-ture,and the cells had no flagella.Through morphological observation and genetic sequencing,the strain was identified as Candida tropicalis,a fungal species.The optimal temperature,pH,and carbon source for atrazine degradation by AX1 were 30℃,pH 6-8,and glucose,respectively.After being cultured under the above conditions for 72 h,the strain degraded 49.67%of initial atrazine at 20 mg·L-1 and 42.26%at 50 mg·L-1.[Conclusion]A fungal strain AX1,demonstrating atrazine-degrading capacity,is isolated from the hot and humid soil in southern China,expanding the microbial resources for atrazine degradation.
