Design and Application of Trenchless Stainless Steel Lining Repair Technology in Large Diameter Raw Water Transmission Pipeline

Abstract
[Objective]The DN1600 raw water pipeline of a water treatment plant(WTP)in Changsha City has been used for over 30 years.The pipe material is prestressed reinforced concrete pipe.Currently,it urgently needs to be repaired because there are relatively serious structural defect problems such as corrosion and leakage.However,due to its location in a bustling urban area and the influence of other municipal pipelines along the line,the pipeline does not meet the conditions for excavation construction.Therefore,a suitable trenchless rehabilitation process needs to be selected.[Methods]This project adopted the stainless steel inner lining rehabilitation process to carry out trenchless rehabilitation of the raw water pipeline.This paper analyzed the key design aspects,including the wall thickness of stainless steel liner pipe,lap mode,end connections,reinforcement piers and water hammer protection.Additionally,the pipeline's appearance morphology,flow capacity and economic benefits were conducted.[Results]For the DN1600 raw water pipeline,wall thickness of stainless steel inner lining pipe was 3.5 mm under the combined protection of pressure tank,air valve and inner support ring.The inner liner was closely fitted to original pipeline and the flow capacity of pipeline was increased by 28.49%after the rehabilitation of raw water pipeline.The comprehensive unit price was 10 065.41 yuan/m,which could save about 50%of construction investment compared with excavation rehabilitation.[Conclusion]As the first project in Changsha City to adopt stainless steel lining for the rehabilitation of raw water pipeline,this project has solved the problem that construction of large-diameter pipelines in the main urban area is limited by traffic,environment,comprehensive pipelines and project cost.It has high economic and social benefits and can provide reference for similar engineering design.关键词
