《道德经》中的水利工程观及其英译策略分析
View of hydrological engineering in Tao Te Ching and its English translation strategies
摘要
Abstract
At an era when global cultural exchanges are becoming increasingly frequent,the English translation of Chinese classics is of great significance to the dissemination of Chinese culture and the enhancement of international understanding.As a canon of Taoism philosophy,Tao Te Ching contains a rich view of hydrological engineering.This paper analyzes in depth the view of hydrological engineering in Tao Te Ching,and reveals the principles of hydrolog-ical engineering such as conforming to nature and overcoming rigidity with flexibility.Through a comparative analy-sis of related texts translated by Arthur Wiley,Lin Yutang,Han Lubo,and Gu Zhengkun,we study the translation strategies of the view of hydraulic engineering in cross-cultural communication.The study emphasizes that effective translation should balance between the philosophical implications of the source text and the target cultural context,reasonably apply the translation strategies of domestication and foreignization,and flexibly use the translation meth-ods or supplement them with appropriate translation techniques,so as to promote the global dissemination and iden-tification of Chinese culture,provide Chinese wisdom for international water resources management,and enhance the international influence and soft power of Chinese culture.关键词
