摘要

Abstract

[Objectives]The paper aimed to explore the effect of silica nanoparticles(SiNPs)on the emergence of pepper seeds under waterlogging stress.[Methods]Pepper variety'Guifeijiao'was used as the material,and 250 mg·L-1 SiNPs(SiNP250)solution was used to soak seeds.The effects of exogenous SiNP250 on the germination rate,germination index,seedling length,lipid membrane peroxidation degree,nitric oxide level of pepper seeds under waterlogging stress and the expression changes of AP2/ERF and ABA synthesis related genes in pepper seedlings were analyzed.[Results]Compared with the control(soaking seeds with distilled water),the germination rate,germination index,cotyledon expansion rate and seedling length of pepper significantly decreased,and the germination delay and cotyledon expansion delay were markedly prolonged under waterlogging stress;nitric oxide level and peroxidation degree of lipid membrane increased significantly.Soaking seeds with SiNP250 could promote seed germination of'Guifeijiao'under waterlogging stress.Compared with single waterlogging stress treatment,the germination delay and cotyledon expansion delay of pepper after SiNP250 soaking were accelerated by 0.50 and 1.25 d,respectively;and the cotyledon expansion rate also increased by 92.5%;peroxidation degree of lipid membrane and nitric oxide level significantly decreased,and plasma membrane integrity was dramatically improved.Under waterlogging stress,SiNP250 soaking seeds induced the up-regulation of CaAP2/ERF127 and ABA synthesis-related genes CaCCD4a and CaNCED1 to respond to waterlogging stress.[Conclusions]Soaking seeds with SiNPs could alleviate the inhibition of waterlogging stress on seed germination and seedling emergence of'Guifeijiao'.
