Abstract
Objective:To investigate the status quo of toxic leadership behaviors of nurse managers and to analyze their influencing factors.Methods:A total of 756 nurses in China were selected as study subjects from March 2 to August 3,2024 by convenience sampling.Surveys were conducted using the General Information Questionnaire,Toxic Leadership Behaviors of Nurse Managers scale,Abusive Supervision Item,Organizational Cultural Assessment Instrument,and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale-9.Linear regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of toxic leadership behaviors of nurse managers.Results:The total score on toxic leadership behaviors of nurse managers was 114.00(79.00,121.00).The scoring rates for the dimensions of paranoid behavior,narcissistic behavior,self-promoting behavior,and humiliating behavior were 64.93%,65.32%,66.49%,and 67.65%,respectively.Multivariate analysis results showed that the department,the level of hospital,the type of hospital,the management years of the nursing manager,the number of departments managed by the nursing manager,and abusive supervision were influencing factors for toxic leadership behaviors of nurse managers(P<0.05).Conclusions:The toxic leadership behaviors of nurse managers were at medium-high level.It was essential to pay attention to the influencing factors of these behaviors and to develop scientific measures to effectively reduce their occurrence..关键词
