Burst Access Algorithm for High-density Sensor Networks Based on Random Backoff

Abstract
Burst traffic in high-density wireless sensor networks often generates a large number of random access signals.The concentrated access of these signals within a short period can cause channel congestion,leading to signal collisions,which in turn result in data loss,information delay,and distortion.To address this issue,a high-density wireless sensor monitoring system model is constructed,and a Random Time Backoff(RTB)algorithm suitable for large-scale burst traffic scenarios is proposed,which can rapidly process the backoff time for a massive number of nodes.This algorithm employs a large backoff window to handle signal collisions while providing a method to calculate the optimal backoff time range.The backoff range is reduced based on the number of retransmissions.To ensure the effectiveness of the backoff time,the limit value of the number of retransmissions is calculated to prevent the backoff time from reaching zero due to an excessive number of retransmissions.Experimental results show that compared with the PCWRBF algorithm,the RTB algorithm improves all performance metrics:throughput is increased by 2.61%,the total transmission time is reduced by 2.67%.Its performance in reducing the number of retransmissions is particularly outstanding,with an improvement magnitude of up to 40.14%.This indicates that the RTB algorithm not only helps improve network transmission efficiency but also demonstrates significant advantages in reducing the number of data retransmissions.关键词
