Application of STORZ 4K Ultra-High-Definition Endoscope Combined with NBI Technology in Defining the Submucosal Invasion Boundary of Early Na-sopharyngeal Carcinoma

Abstract
Objective To explore the application value of STORZ 4K ultra-high-definition endoscopy combined with narrowband imaging(NBI)technology in defining the submucosal invasion boundary of early nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Methods Sixty patients with early nasopharyngeal carcinoma admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from January 2019 to December 2024 were selected,and all cases underwent STORZ 4K ultra-high-definition endoscopy and NBI technology examinations.The postoperative pathological results were used as the gold standard to analyze the accuracy,sensitivity,and specificity of STORZ 4K ultra-high-definition endoscopy and NBI technology alone and in combination in defining the submucosal invasion boundary,and the accuracy rates of STORZ 4K ultra-high-definition endoscopy combined with NBI technology in defining the submucosal invasion boundary for patients with different T stages and different pathological types of early nasopharyngeal carcinoma were also statistically analyzed.Results The accuracy,sensitivity,and specificity of STORZ 4K ultra-high-definition endoscopy in defining the submucosal invasion boundary of early nasopharyngeal carcinoma were 73.33%,72.97%,and 73.91%,respectively;For NBI technology,the accuracy,sensitivity,and specificity were 76.67%,75.68%,and 78.26%,respectively;For the combined examination,the accuracy,sensitivity,and specificity were 91.67%,97.30%,and 82.61%,respectively.The accuracy and sensitivity of the combined examination were significantly higher than those of STORZ 4K ultra-high-definition endoscopy or NBI technology alone,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the accuracy or sensitivity between NBI technology and STORZ 4K ultra-high-definition endoscopy examination(P>0.05),and no statistically significant difference was observed in the specificity among the three methods(P>0.05).STORZ 4K ultra-high-definition endoscopy combined with NBI technology for defining the submucosal invasion boundary of patients with different T stages showed the accuracy of 93.33%(14/15)for T1 stage and 84.44%(38/45)for T2 stage;Among different pathological types,the accuracy of defining poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma was 87.50%(42/48),the accuracy of undifferentiated carcinoma was 90.00%(9/10),and the accuracy of other types of carcinoma was 50.00%(1/2).Conclusions STORZ 4K ultra-high-definition endoscope combined with NBI technology has high application value in defining the submucosal invasion boundary of early nasopharyngeal carcinoma,and can provide important basis for the formulation of clinical treatment plans.关键词
