我国视障人士通行环境的现状调研与优化策略
Current Status and Optimization Strategies of Accessible Environments for Visually Impaired Individuals in China

Abstract
[Objective]This study aims to propose optimization strategies as references for the construction of barrier-free environments by reviewing the current status and relevant challenges of accessible environments for visually impaired individuals in China and drawing on experiences from developed countries.[Method]The study employs qualitative research methods including participant observation,semi-structured interviews,and narrative analysis to conduct long-term tracking of daily mobility activities of six visually impaired individuals.Three representative participants are selected for an in-depth observational experiment conducted along three representative routes specially designed in a Beijing neighborhood(the familiar environment around workplaces,the internal environment in metros and the complex environment at road intersections).Additionally,the firsthand data accumulated by the authors through extensive research on accessible environments at home and abroad are used for comparative analysis in order to identify the most representative accessibility characteristics of each route and reflect the demand of visually impaired individuals for an accessible environment.[Result]1)The mobility behaviors of visually impaired individuals along three typical routes exhibited the following characteristics:Respondents can move smoothly in familiar environments and can take the subway smoothly with the help of good barrier-free services in the station.Semi-blind respondents can walk independently with the help of sidewalks for the blind,tactile sticks,their own light perception and hearing.At complex road intersections,they dare to cross the road independently by relying on information such as the sound of traffic and the light and shadow of the crowd.2)The primary challenges faced by visually impaired individuals in walking environments included:Passage facilities such as the ramps of overpasses pose safety hazards;Common obstacles on the sidewalk pose a risk of scratching and bumping;Temporary changes in the environment such as construction areas bring difficulties for respondents to find their way.3)Optimization strategies are proposed for improving visually impaired individuals' accessible environment in China in terms of physical environment,social environment,and technological applications.[Conclusion]In recent years,the accessibility environment for visually impaired individuals in China has seen numerous improvements.The construction of barrier-free environments in the future should take into account the needs of visually impaired individuals,the elderly and other vulnerable groups,popularize the concept of visually impaired individual friendliness,and leverage emerging technologies like artificial intelligence to complement physical infrastructure such as the sidewalk for the blind,in order to create an urban environment which is friendly to visually impaired individuals.关键词
