Geological characteristics and prospecting potential of Shimenkan lithium mining area in Tongzi County of Guizhou Province
摘要
Abstract
Shimenkan lithium mining area is located at the junction of Bijie arc-shaped fold belt and Fenggang north-south trough type fold deformation zone, with good potential for lithium ore exploration. The 1∶10 000 mineral geological mapping was implemented in Shimenkan and its the surrounding areas of Tongzi County, and shallow soil stripping, trench exploration, and deep drilling projects were also carried out.By collecting 40 thick-ness data geological points, soil stripping, trench exploration, and drilling prejects, the authors utilized the auto-matic analysis function of MapGIS spatial DTM to generate of lithium bearing rock series ispach lines. The results show that one lithium ore body has been preliminarily delineated. The ore body is generally distributed in NNE-SSW direction, with a strike of 28° and a weighted Li2O grade of 0.31%.Comprehensive analysis shows that the thickness of Dazhuyuan Formation in the region is characterized by being thicker in the north and thinner in the south. The uplift of Qianbei Plain in the south leads to the absence of lithium bearing rock formations. Two areas have better mineralization conditions, including Shimenkan area in north of Mugua Toun, and Zaodu area in west of Podu Town, with thick and high-grade lithium bearing rock formations and good potential for lithium mineral exploration. The research results could provide geological significance for lithium ore exploration in Shimenkan and its surrounding areas.关键词
