Power line extraction and 3D reconstruction based on LiDAR point cloud

Abstract
To enhance the efficiency and accuracy of power line corridor inspection,research on automatic power line identi-fication and extraction technologies is of great importance.This paper proposed a method for automatic power line extraction and three-dimensional(3D)modeling based on airborne light detection and ranging(LiDAR)point cloud data.Firstly,an improved elevation filtering algorithm,combined with spatial segmentation and point cloud density analysis,was utilized to perform rough extraction of power lines.Secondly,an optimized algorithm that integrates the mean tilt angle of the point cloud with statistical filtering was introduced to complete the fine extraction of power line point clouds.Finally,a Euclidean distance segmentation algorithm was adopted to detect individual power lines,and a quadratic polynomial-constrained least square fitting method was employed to construct high-precision power line curve models.Experimental results from airborne LiDAR point cloud measurements show that the method achieves an extraction accuracy of over 98%,with straight-line model errors less than 5 cm and curve model errors controlled within 3 cm.This verifies the reliability and practicality of the method,providing effective technical support for power line corridor inspection.关键词
