碳环境规制对企业创新投入的影响
Research on the influence of carbon environmental regulation on the innovation input of enterprises:A quasi-natural experiment based on Carbon Emission Trading Pilot

Abstract
Against the backdrop of vigorously promoting green economy,China's vigorous pursuit of a green economy,the carbon emission trading policy,representing a major innovation in environmental regulation,raises an important question:does it conform to the Porter Hypothesis by positively stimulating the innovation investment of enterprises.Using a Difference-in-Differences(DID)model based on panel data of China's A-share listed firms in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2007 to 2019,this study conducts an empirical analysis and finds that the carbon emission trading policy promotes the innovation input of enterprises.Moreover,this promoting effect is positively moderated by the cash holdings of enterprises and the competition of markets.Further research reveals that the policy's stimulating effect on innovation investment is stronger in the eastern and central regions than that in the western region,and more pronounced in private firms than that in state-owned enterprises.Additionally,in terms of economic consequences,the promotion effect of the carbon emission trading policy on the innovation input of enterprises enhances their total factor productivity and innovative output.The research makes a conclusion by providing new insights for the government to upgrade the construction of the carbon emission trading market and flexibly apply the carbon emission trading policy.关键词
