The Adverb"Sihuo"as a Means of Expressing Stance in Chinese
摘要
Abstract
The adverb"sihuo"exhibits strong subjectivity,enabling the expression of a firm attitudinal stance as well as conveying negative evaluations regarding others or unexpected outcomes.Its stance-expressing function is associated with the only two states of existence in life;its negative evaluation function stems from counter-expectation outcomes and the semantic evolution of the coordinate phrase"sihuo",while also reflecting the negative connotations of"si"in Chinese culture.Additionally,the stance-expressing function of"sihuo"is evident in its formal usage.关键词
