闽语莆仙方言情态词"复"的异读别义现象
Variant Pronunciations and Meaning Differentiation of the Modal Word"Fu"in the Puxian Min Dialect
摘要
Abstract
The modal word"Fu"(复)in the Puxian Min dialect primarily denotes repetition or continuation,possessing a robust function of differentiating meanings through variant pronunciations.The textual reading"hɔʔ8"is used not only in written contexts but also to indicate continuity and increment,similar to its colloquial reading"haʔ8".The variant pronunciations"pu6"and"pɔʔ7"can express sequential actions,accumulation,and emphatic or modal nuances,forming a superposition of functions.Most uses of"Fu"are documented in the Xinghua Romanized Bible and traditional scripts of Puxian opera.Over the past century,under the pervasive influence of the common language adverbs"You"(又)and"Zai"(再),"Fu"has undergone a diachronic process characterized by the expansion of its modal functions and the decline of its sequential meaning.In summary,unlike typical text-colloquial or other meaningful variant pronunciations,"Fu"in the Puxian dialect constitutes not only a phonetic and lexical phenomenon but also a grammatical one.关键词
