Abstract

Compaction can effectively compensate the limitations of large-scale machine tamping,and promote the rapid recovery of ballast density and ballast bed stability.In order to explore the influence of compaction operation on the performance of high-speed railway bridge ballast bed after tamping,based on theoretical simulation,field test and simulation analysis,this paper analyzed the influence of compaction after tamping on the performance of railway bridge ballast bed,in order to reveal its important significance in railway maintenance.First,based on the discrete element method,the compaction operation simulation was carried out to analyze the change of ballast state parameters,and the influence mechanism of compaction operation on ballast was proved.Second,the single channel simulated multi-channel surface wave(MSOR)method was designed to carry out field test to evaluate the state of the ballast whether to compact after compaction and tamping.Finally,combined with track smoothness data and field test data,based on the vehicle-track-bridge dynamic model,the influence of compaction after tamping on the dynamic performance of the ballast railway bed and bridge was studied.The results show that the compaction operation after tamping significantly restores the compactness of ballast in the pillow box area,thereby leading to more uniform distribution of ballast near the sleepers,reducing the probability of local stress concentration,and then improving the lateral resistance and support stiffness of the bed.By using MSOR non-destructive testing,it was found that the shear wave conversion modulus of the track bed decreased by 24.2%after tamping operation,and the shear wave conversion modulus of the track bed decreased by 11.6%after compaction operation,which can effectively restore the support stiffness of the track bed after tamping operation.Increasing compaction operation after tamping has little effect on the dynamic performance of the train-bridge system,and the compaction operation can effectively improve the stability of the track bed and help to maintain the smoothness of the line.The research results can provide reference for improving the track bed maintenance effect of ballast high-speed railway bridge section.
