Abstract

During the operation of high-speed trains in cold regions,ice and snow blocks adhering to the bogie area,are prone to detachment under the influence of airflow disturbance and temperature fluctuations.These detached blocks may strike the track bed or trackside facilities,posing significant safety hazards.To quantitatively assess the risk of de-cing from train bogies,this study proposed an evaluation method based on Monte Carlo simulation.By analyzing the mechanical mechanisms of ice adhesion on trains,a multi-factor hierarchical index system was established,and a limit state function was constructed to account for the coupled effects of wind load,vibration,and temperature.Based on meteorological data measured from 2021 to 2023 in the Siping section of the Harbin-Dalian High-Speed Railway and relevant experimental data from the literature,the statistical characteristics of key parameters were extracted and fitted.Random simulations were then conducted to analyze the influence patterns of various factors on ice detachment risk.The results indicate that train speed and the mass of ice blocks have the most significant impact on the reliability of ice shedding,with higher speeds and larger masses increasing the likelihood of detachment.Environmental temperature exhibits a nonlinear regulatory effect on the adhesive strength between ice blocks and the train body:adhesion increases in the initial stage of temperature drop but weakens further with continued cooling due to changes in material properties.The adhesion height and surface area of ice blocks show complex,non-monotonic effects due to local disturbances and uneven shear stresses.This study provides a quantitative foundation and theoretical support for mechanism identification and protective strategy development related to train ice shedding in cold regions.
